With a smoky and soulful voice, New York songstress Sarah Solovay translates traditional songcraft into modern soundscapes equally evocative of Stevie Nicks and Lorde—yet wholly distinguished and distinct.
While /still in high school, Sarah formally stepped into the spotlight with a series of independent EPs—Gone and Superhuman . These led her to selling out venues she wasn’t old enough to attend and landing gigs supporting John Mayer and Train. The New York Times became an early champion, and she secured multiple film and television syncs, including the hit TV show 90210. She took a break to attend Yale in 2012, finding pockets of time to write and record. Post-graduation, Sarah turned all of her attention to music in 2017. Her first single back, “Rough Draft,” produced by THE EL3VEN [Meghan Trainor, Cher Lloyd], generated over 70k Spotify streams, impacted Sirius XM, and was placed on Apple Music’s coveted “Future Hits” Playlist. Simultaneously, she attracted acclaim from tastemakers such as Paste Magazine, Popdust, Sweety High, and many more.
Ultimately, the new music represents a clear evolution for the artist.
Sarah’s latest single “Trick Me” serves as the perfect introduction to her style and spirit. Upon release in April 2017, “Trick Me” quickly hit the Spotify Global Viral Charts, peaking at #7, and hit Top 40 on the Spotify US Viral Chart without any traditional promotion or push. With various tours and EP’s release on the horizon, Sarah’s empathetic, emotional, and engaging vision will undoubtedly captivate listeners everywhere.
